Employee Spotlight

Welcome to our employee spotlight page. At CL&A we realize that our success comes from the people that have joined our CL&A family. Without our hardworking and dedicated teams, we would not be where we are today. In an effort to recognize our employees for the exemplary work that they do, we’d like to take a moment and highlight one member, who we believe to be doing an outstanding job. The people who are featured here represent the best of us. They are an example to everyone around them of the excellence that can be achieved.

Employee Spotlight: Miesha Davis
Congratulations to Miesha Davis on being a valued CL&A employee. You are an outstanding member of our team, and we couldn’t do it without you! We are honored to highlight you in this month’s employee spotlight.

Tell us a little about yourself.
I am a forty-year-old God fearing woman, mother and daughter.  I have been through challenging life experiences.  Through these things, I have learned whom I am.  I am stronger each day because of my experiences.  I am successful not because of my degree, but because I learned how to apply what I have learned and share with others.  I am devoted to mastering the little things that I did not know about myself.  I am a planner.  Each day I plan my hours to be productive, my week to be educational and my years to be purposeful.

What is your role at CL&A?
I am a field coordinator providing intensive housing services and support to Veterans.

What would people never guess you do in your role?
How much I talk and play the “mother role.”  I hear this from Veterans and peers in a healthy way.  I find that my older Veterans love teaching me about their military experience.   I love it because I am genuinely concern about others and want positive outcomes at the end of it all.  Funny enough, I am called “momma” with staff and Veterans.

What aspect of your role do you enjoy the most?
I enjoy Veterans and especially service providers learning from their mistake; Recognizing that every moment in life is a teachable moment and experience.  Life is great because we get opportunities to do-over our mistakes and learn.

How did you first learn about CL&A?
I was searching for employment and recognized that I met the criteria for the program.

What do you like most about CL&A?
I like to call it the extended family style approach with employees.  Staff extends support and well wishes when an emergency or crisis is present.

Before working here, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
I worked in Caldor’s in Domestics.  My job was to keep the aisles neat and towels folded.  However, I found myself at a young age counseling and socializing with store shoppers having little to no life experience.  It was the best job ever.  I figured once they fire me, my parents will support me financially.  Thinking about it, I was care free and had no adult concerns or life problems.  After that, life began and I had to grow up.

What kinds of hobbies and interests do you have outside of work?
Fishing, shopping on QVC, HSN and Jewelry TV.

What is one thing you couldn’t live without?
My wonderful amazing baby girl Jurnee.

What is your hidden talent?
I love to do hair and fascinated about the underworld of hair.
